FRISCO, Texas (May 5, 2020) - DialCare is excited to announce the launch of its virtual counseling program to middle and high school students in Grand Prairie Independent School District, the first school district in the DFW Metroplex to adopt the program. DialCare recognizes that providing counseling for students' well-being is important, especially during the COVID-19 crisis, which makes the program a vital resource for the students in the district now and in the future.

The virtual counseling program through DialCare is designed to provide students with a safe, secure and private means of seeking assistance from licensed counselors via video and telephonic counseling sessions. The virtual counseling program can assist with conditions such as depression, anxiety, grief, relationship problems and more. The program provides counseling sessions to students age 11 and above, who are in 6th grade through 12th grade. This unique program connects students with a licensed counselor via phone or video consultation for support. Students can schedule counseling sessions Monday through Friday before and after school hours and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT. Students can access the program using the DialCare website, mobile app or by calling the DialCare customer support line. Counseling sessions are available in both English and Spanish.

"We are very excited to be able to offer this service to our 6th through 12th grade students," said Dana Jackson, Executive Director of Counseling Services at Grand Prairie Independent School District. "DialCare now allows us the ability to support our students before and after school hours."

With Texas schools shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students are being asked to spend entire weeks in their homes, completing schoolwork online and physically separated from their friends, classmates and teachers. The disruption and uncertainty caused by this pandemic has been a source of anxiety and stress for many, including students. The virtual counseling program through DialCare provides a mental wellness resource to students who may be struggling, or a teacher who is concerned about a student's well-being, so they can conveniently access professional help during this critical time. The virtual counseling program provides a cutting-edge service that students can access conveniently from their homes.

"We're proud to launch the virtual counseling program with Grand Prairie ISD," DialCare president Jeremy Hedrick said. "With the prevalence of mental health conditions, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, this program is a needed resource to support the mental health and well-being of students this school year and beyond."

The virtual counseling program through DialCare is currently in several other school districts in Texas and is expanding across the country. Beyond the student program, the virtual counseling program is available for consumers nationwide.
